Year in review 2022

In January 2022, the 500th Schmidt showroom opened its doors in France. By the end of 2022, the brand had 539 showrooms across 27 countries.

People-driven performance! The French-Speaking Network Convention was held in February at the Stade de France. The event was attended by 600 Schmidt and Cuisinella showroom owners, as well as Schmidt Groupe’s senior management team. This empowering business convention was the ideal opportunity to promote the #OneTeam spirit behind our wonderful Extended Enterprise.

To coincide with its 30th anniversary, the brand pulled out all the stops when it came to spoiling its customers, such as special offers, competitions, in-store events, media visibility initiatives and social media actions. The anniversary was marked by the opening of the 300th showroom in March 2022. By the end of 2022, the magnificent and large Cuisinella tribe had 317 showrooms.

U2’s twin site, which features four workshops across a surface area of 20,000 m², will increase our production capacity and thereby support our growth in the factory-assembled furniture range. The site’s launch heralds the Group’s decision to embrace new technologies by implementing new automated assembly processes.

Bearing testament to our exemplary ability to empower all our stakeholders, we were awarded the “Coq Vert Pathfinder” accolade by BPI France and Adème. This label shines the spotlight on proactive leaders, just like Anne Leitzgen, a CEO who is committed to her company and her local region.

Our UK and Spanish dealers and partners travelled to Alsace to discuss and chat with the Schmidt Groupe teams. The convention was the ideal forum to provide an insight into our international development strategy and forge stronger ties between the teams as part of a unique atmosphere conducive to socialising.

Over 1,000 employees came together to celebrate the start of the summer holidays. Smiling faces, sunshine, sport, safety and environmental awareness, music and high spirits… this annual event allows the teams to meet up, soak up the summer spirit and enjoy the festive mood.

Just like every year, Schmidt Groupe continues to lay solid foundations for the future by integrating talented young individuals. The class of 2022-2023 has 70 students, who will join the ranks of work-study students already in the Group. All the work-study vacancies for 2022 have been filled.

The teams can be proud of their record-breaking “number of accident-free days”. This achievement demonstrates how they have effectively engaged with safety, which is top of Schmidt Groupe’s priority list. Our collective goal is to continue these efforts throughout the company and achieve a zero accident rate.

Euroforum is a major event for Schmidt Groupe and its network. Organised every two years, the convention was held in Madrid in November 2022. The 2022 event proved to be the ideal opportunity to drill down into the strategic roadmap for our entire Extended Enterprise and unveil our great new products and marketing actions for Schmidt and Cuisinella.

In December 2022, Schmidt Groupe invited its employees and their partners to a timeless Christmas party, representing a tremendous opportunity to meet up and spend some quality time together in the run-up to the festive season. Before enjoying dinner and hitting the dancefloor, senior management took to the stage to deliver a number of strong messages and thank all the employees for their efforts during what was an exceptional year.
